What will I learn?

Those studying this course will learn about foundations in health and safety policy, organising for health and safety, promoting a positive health and safety culture risk assessment, including monitoring, review and audit, principles of control, movement of people and vehicles, manual and mechanical handling, construction activities and work equipment, fire, chemical, biological, physical and psychological health, incident investigation, recording and reporting.

Entry Requirements

You should be working in a role where you are responsible for elements of Health and Safety in the workplace.

Study, Assessment and Qualifications

Assessment consists of two written exams and one practical assessment.

An understanding of basic maths and an ability to write short reports is a pre-requisite of this course. This mainly practical course is directly related to the work experience of candidates, where possible.

Additional Costs and Information

This course is delivered as a three-week block course at the Salisbury and Lackham campuses. We also offer a day release course at the Lackham campus.
