This course prepares you for developing your own independent lifestyle. It gives you the practical skills for you to learn how to make healthy, positive choices and will help you develop the skills and confidence to live independently or semi-independently.
What will I learn?

o Prepare for further training in college or at other institutions
o Enhance your ability to make informed life choices
This course has no formal entry requirements, although we do need to see any qualifications you have achieved during your previous education. Our staff will meet with you to find out if this is the right course for you.
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
We will individualise the programme according to your needs. Areas of study may include:

o Yourself and Others
o Keeping Healthy and Safe
o Community and Leisure
o Time and Money
o Understanding Relationships
o You will also study English and maths at a level that is right for you. We will agree which level is appropriate following an assessment which you can either take at interview or when your course begins.
Additional Costs and Information
Your course is likely to include trips to tourist attractions and community facilities which will require a contribution to the cost. You can apply for financial help from the College, if this cost is going to be a challenge.
