This work-based qualification is aimed at learners who are working, or want to work, in a laboratory. It could lead to employment as an analytical scientist, biochemist, biomedical scientist, biologist, biotechnologist, clinical scientist, microbiologist, physicist, laboratory technician or laboratory assistant.As this is a Level 3 course, the individual will need to have more responsibility than say an individual working at Level 2. They should be organising or leading others or carrying out?work of a complex nature.
What will I learn?
Although a learner might already have some prior skills from working in the sector, the course will confirm these skills and serve to challenge and stretch the individual where there are gaps in their knowledge or practical skills.
Learners are?required to be?in full-time employment in the Industrial Science?sector and working in a role that has enough and appropriate responsibilities and complexity of work.
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
The course is delivered at the learners’ place of work, with the College assessor visiting every six to eight weeks.
