Course Overview

In order to start and complete this course, the learner must be employed and working in a Technical Support role. Examples of a suitable work role include CAD Draught-person, Project Engineer, Measurement and Control Technician, Quality Control Inspector, Technical Support Engineer, Technical Author and Metrology Inspector.The NVQ Level 3 is delivered entirely at the Learners’ place of work. A College Engineering Assessor works in partnership with the learners’ employer, to ensure that the appropriate types of work can be used to prove the Learners knowledge and practical skill. Evidence is collected in the form of a paper-based portfolio.

Working towards and attaining this NVQ 3 qualification will challenge and stretch your existing theoretical and practical skills. It is also an ideal qualification to consolidate or obtain formal accreditation for existing knowledge and skills.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements in the way of English or Maths. The learner however MUST be employed and working in a role that will give opportunity to prove their competence in one or more of the Technical Support.

Study, Assessment and Qualifications

The NVQ 3 Diploma in Engineering Technical Support is made up of mandatory and optional units. These are selected by the Employer and Learner.

The Wiltshire College Engineering Assessors works in partnership with the Employer, planning and assessing relevant practical activities. The Learner attains the NVQ3 Qualification by collecting and presenting evidence in the form of a portfolio that is then assessed.

Additional Costs and Information

Although delivered entirely at the learners place of work. The learner should expect to work in thier own time to complete some of the Knowledge and Competence criteria of the NVQ3 qualification.
