The L3 Graphics course is ideally suited to those learners who have a desire to pursue a graphics pathway within the area of art and design.The course will consist of mainly practical elements and project work, whilst including all core areas and the required underpinning knowledge of art and design, and will focus on the essential aspects of graphic design as a specialism.Learners will cover a diverse range of subjects and topics, including visual recording techniques, typography, advertising and layout design, digital work (using state of the art Mac facilities) and will also include the essential digital photographic processes and techniques that are so valuable for a career in todays creative industries.
What will I learn?
The course will also offer the chance for learners to put their design skills to excellent use through collaborative work alongside other courses, the inclusion of ‘live’ projects and competition opportunities as well as working with the local community to gain customer/client experience as the course unfolds.
Applicants will need a minimum of:
• 4 GCSE grades for A* to C or 9 to 4 (or equivalent) including English and maths.
• A Level 2 qualification in a related subject at a minimum of Merit Level.
• A portfolio/ collection of work as evidence of artistic ability.
