Course Overview
This apprenticeship course is for people who want to gain professional experience while training for a Level 3 Construction Contracting Operations qualification, including the Extended Level 3 BTEC in Civil Engineering.You’ll learn all the skills you need to liaise between the engineers, management and operatives on a construction site. You’ll also get a comprehensive insight into how construction sites operate, with hands-on experience in a variety of different roles.
What will I learn?
The course includes training in safe working practices, managing excavation, plant and piling, laying domestic drainage, levelling and setting out, quantities and communicating with others, building methods and construction technology, mathematics for civil engineers, and planning and design process and environmental considerations.
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
On completion of this apprenticeship you will gain the following qualifications:
- Level 3 Construction Diploma in Civil Engineering
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations
- Level 2 Functional Skills (maths and English)
Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at grades 9-4 or equivalent which must include maths, a science subject and English.
To help us assess your suitability for the course, you'll need to complete a Skills Learning exercise and maths test.
You must have secured a position with an employer and be ready to start working with them before you can begin your apprenticeship course.
