Course Overview

If you want to enhance your career prospects and gain a higher-level qualification in beauty therapy, then this Level 3 apprenticeship will give you everything you need. Covering the theory and practice of body massage, Indian head massage and stone therapy, practical work is carried out on clients and fellow students within our very own Aspire Academy Hair and Beauty salons, providing you with hands-on, real life experience of a working salon.You will need time for personal study, and you must be able to purchase your own specialist kit and uniform. Practical sessions delivered in Commercial Beauty salons. One to one tutorial support is provided by industry qualified lecturers with up to date knowledge of new and emerging trends.

What will I learn?

You will understand and complete the following mandatory units; contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional activities, provide body massage treatments, provide Indian Head massage, carry out massage using pre-blended aromatherapy oils, provide stone therapy treatments.

Entry Requirements

We will typically require apprentices to have achieved a Level 2 in Beauty Therapy however other qualifications and or significant years of industry experience will be considered. Applicants are required to hold the minimum requirement of Entry Level 3 in English and Maths. This can be considered by the provider, on an individual and case-by-case basis.

Study, Assessment and Qualifications

The college programme includes off site training on a day release model. This usually takes place each Monday during term times and you can expect approximately 36 weeks of day release each year. There is a requirement for off the job training, both at the college through shadowing and training in the workplace.

In addition, the apprentices will be allocated a work-based assessor who will support them throughout the duration of their training and who will make frequent visits to the apprentices at work.

Additional Costs and Information

Apprentices will be able to start on this programme at two points throughout the year. It is anticipated that this programme will take between a minimum recommended duration of programme is 12 months (SENSE) depending on prior knowledge and experience.

Apprentices are expected to uphold the highest levels of professionalism both at work and in college and as part of this are required to wear and purchase a salon uniform as well as having appropriate kit such as a textbook to support their studies.
