Course Overview
The course is based around on-site assessment and training for trade operatives who wish to obtain a Level 2 NVQ in Brickwork. Throughout the course your Assessor will visit you to observe you in the workplace undertaking work activities.
What will I learn?
You will learn how to collect and compile a work based evidence portfolio containing your work experiences from: Compliance with Health, Safety and Welfare procedures. Reading Drawings and Contract Documentation Physically Undertaking Trade Work Operations. This evidence can be in the form of: photographs, witness statements, risk assessments, etc.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must have a minimum of five years trade experience, working full - time and practising as a bricklayer.
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
At the start of the course your existing skills and industrial experiences will be mapped to the standards within the NVQ training specifications. Any deficiencies in your trade knowledge, skills or understanding will be the subject of an action plan to enable you to gather additional or more appropriate evidence. You may be required to undertake periods of self - study within the workplace or at home, in your own time. Based on individual needs your progress will be monitored, reviewed and a subsequent action plan will be agreed between you and the assessor, in order to support you through the qualification. If additional training is required you may need to attend college subject to separate arrangements being agreed between your employer and the college.
Additional Costs and Information
There are no additional costs to the course apart from purchasing a memory stick to record: digital photographs, reports, memos, diary entries, etc.
