What will I learn?

Whether it’s horse care, riding or breeding that excites you, this apprenticeship has a variety of routes to suit your interests and ambitions. Core units will ensure you have the relevant business skills to thrive in the land-based industries, and a diploma in work-based horse care as part of the course will ensure you have the fundamental competencies in horse care for all employment. Working and training alongside experienced personnel, you’ll learn how to clean and maintain stables, feed and water horses, carry out routine care and monitor the health and well-being of horses. You’ll learn key restraint methods and how to operate safely. Your own performance is at the heart of the qualification, and you’ll develop and hone your key skills, whether in riding, care or breeding. A range of optional units will also mean your learning reflects your passion and takes you where you want to go.
