Course Overview

Experience working on the frontline as a carer, making a positive difference in someone’s life. You’ll be helping and supporting adults who are faced with physical, practical, social, emotional or intellectual challenges to achieve their personal goals. You’ll assist them in living safely and with as much independence as possible, enabling them to have control and choice in their lives. An apprenticeship in adult care work could start a lifetime of rewarding work in the care sector. Throughout the course, you’ll be supported in gaining industry experience while you develop the skills and knowledge required to work in a range of clinical healthcare support settings and in adult care environments.

What will I learn?

On this course, you will learn about communicating effectively in care settings, and handling sensitive information appropriately. You will be learning how to implement person-centred approaches in care settings, health and safety and well-being, and your duty of care to patients. Certain values and behaviours are essential for Adult Care Worker; you’ll develop your competences and skills to provide high quality compassionate care and support. The course covers a wide range of topics, such as dementia awareness, mental health and wellbeing, supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health care procedures.
