Course Overview
Interested in working with children? If you want to work in a child care setting this course will build your skills and knowledge, giving you the tools needed to work with children and support their development. Learning from subject specialists with years of experience working in the early years sector, you’ll begin to understand key developmental milestones and how you can encourage children to reach them, preparing you for further study and helping you gain experience and employment in this fulfilling sector.
What will I learn?
Engaging practical sessions make up part of your learning, as you cover how to design and support creative activities with children. You’ll learn essential skills and practice in safeguarding children and valuing them as individuals. You’ll build knowledge on the development of the child, and how the Early Years Workforce which you’ll be entering can support this development.
Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at grade E (2) including English and Maths.
Interview
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
You will be assessed through coursework in a range of forms such as posters, leaflets and written reports.
You will have Maths, English, theory, practical and self-directed study sessions as part of your timetable.
