Course Overview

This course is based at our specialist Lackham campus which offers modern farm facilities in our 800-acre estate.This will allow you to gain experience of working within our fully equipped engineering workshops which would benefit Land Based disciplines such as Agriculture and ground care.As a routine part of your learning, you will be supported by practical and theoretical teaching.This course will prepare you for direct employment in Land Based Sector or further study, making it a strong step into your future.The course will run 09.00-17.30 (may vary slightly) Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting on 2nd November 2021 and finishing on 30th March 2022. (Excluding half terms and college holidays).

What will I learn?

Whether your passion is Tractor driving, Spark Ignition (SI), Compression Ignition (CI) engines, Land Based Vehicle (LBV) Digital Diagnostics (TEXA/Picco Oscilloscopes), you will benefit from our facilities and resources which will give you a real-world experience within the land-based sector.

You will also have the experience of completing a project of your choice to include research, design and problem solving etc. The following subject areas will include:

• AgriTech - Dairy Farming
• Computerised Agritech machinery
• Computerised crop production

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements:

4 x GCSE to include maths and English

Level 2 qualification in Land Based studies or Engineering

Additional Costs and Information

As part of the intensive bootcamp training you will be required to apply for job roles within the Land Based disciplines. Employment areas such as, Agriculture, ground care and Land Based Engineering.

The course also benefits from the College’s strong industry links with a range of Land Based disciplines.

As part of the government incentive programme, if you are upskilling your employees through the bootcamp a 30% contribution (£1164) of the overall cost (£3880) is required.
