Course Overview
Learning a language can be a very rewarding and enjoyable experience, whether you would like to continue studying for pleasure, travel, business, or simply to meet like-minded people. Come and join our evening class which is taught in a friendly, relaxed and adult orientated manner.This ten week course is the second of a three part series of courses, giving you the opportunity to progress even further should you wish.
What will I learn?
The emphasis will be primarily on consolidating previous knowledge and extending vocabulary, structures and fluency. Listening, speaking, reading and writing activities are designed to maximise your confidence and progress. The course will concentrate on the four language skills with particular focus on the speaking and listening and will extend grammar knowledge. Learners will be encouraged to express themselves and give opinions in Italian.
The course will include a revision and extension of structures and progress to extend the use of present subjunctive and achieve the use of structures such the past subjunctive, join pronouns and past conditional. The course will be based a Level B1 of the CEFR.
The topics covered will include: Any topics or structures not covered in Year 4 (Part 1); Town and cities life; Italian products.
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course lecturer.
There are no final qualifications associated with this course.
Entry Requirements
This course is suitable for adult learners who have completed the Italian - Year 4 (Part 1) course at Wiltshire College & University Centre or a similar level course.
This is also suitable for those who have previous knowledge of the language and who feel they can cope at a level with the topics and grammar itemised.
Additional Costs and Information
You will be asked to buy a course book, this will be discussed in your first session.
Please also bring an A4 folder, paper and pens.
To get maximum benefit from the course learners should expect to do up to an hour at home each week to reinforce the work covered in class. Your lecturer will advise you on what work to do at home.
