This is a short course that is designed to teach you how to use a range of Microsoft programmes. You may be familiar with some aspects of Microsoft and just want to develop your wider skills, or you may be a complete beginner. Either way, our experienced and knowledgeable teachers will help and support you to achieve your goals. The course runs for 5 weeks and sessions last for 2 hours and you will be able to learn in a friendly and welcoming environment.
What will I learn?
We will cover the following topics:
Using Word to produce professional looking documents.
Using Excel, which is a great tool to use when budgeting or keeping track of all those important birthdays.
Using PowerPoint to make great presentations.
Email: making and receiving emails and learning what to do about spam or suspicious looking emails.
Using the internet safely.
We can adapt what we do to make it interesting and fun for you and you will be able to practice and demonstrate your skills.
This course is designed for learners who meet one or more of the following criteria:
• On a low income or in receipt of a means tested benefit
• Pre Level 2
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course tutor.

Once you have completed the course you might want to enrol on a longer, more formal qualification: we can give you guidance about this.
This course runs on one day per week at the Westbury Community Project and the dates are:
10.12.20-21.01.21 Thursday 13:00-15:00
