Course Overview

This two-day course is for those whose HABC Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Certificate is due to expire. The course is integrated into the last two days of the 3 day HABC Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work.

Responsibilities and Priorities
Managing an Unconscious Casualty
Airway and Heart Massage
Treating Minor Injuries
Dealing with the Effects of Poisons, Gases and Fumes
Moving Injured People
Avoidance of Cross Infection when treating Wounds
Record Keeping
Using and Buying Supplies for the First Aid Box
Duties of Employers
Treatment of Shock, Burns and Scalds
Injuries to Bones, Muscles and Joints
Eye Injuries

Entry Requirements

You must hold a current HABC Level 3 Certificate in First Aid at Work that is due to expire but has not yet expired. If your certifcate has expired you will need to enrol onto the full 3 day course.

Study, Assessment and Qualifications

Study and assessment will occur towards the end of the second day of the course.

Additional Costs and Information

Candidates should be physically fit and are advised to wear comfortable, casual clothing suitable for the practical elements of the course.

You must bring the following with you to the course:

A copy of your First Aid at Work Certificate that is due to expire

One of the following photographic identification options for assessment purposes:

Valid Passport (any nationality)
Signed UK Photo card Driving Licence
Valid Warrant Card issued by HM Forces, Police
Other photographic ID card, e.g. Employee ID Card (must be current employer), Student ID Card, Travel card.
