What will I learn?

You will:

- Develop personal, social and employability skills
- Prepare for further training in your chosen occupational area such as Animal Care, Agriculture, Horticulture and Countryside Management
- Enhance your ability to make informed career choices.

Entry Requirements

This course has no formal entry requirements, although we do need to see any qualifications you have achieved during your previous education. Our staff will meet with you to find out if this is the right course for you.

Study, Assessment and Qualifications

Your studies and assessment will be within the framework of a flexible accredited Progression qualification Skills for Working in Animal Care/Horticulture at Entry 3.

Although we will individualise the programme according to your needs, sample units may include:
Health & Safety in the Workplace

You will also study English and maths at a level that is right for you. We will agree which level is appropriate following an assessment which you can either take at interview or when your course begins. The qualification will be GCSE or Functional Skills.

Additional Costs and Information

Your course is likely to include trips to tourist attractions and community facilities which will require a contribution to the cost. In addition, some work experience options may need special safety equipment or uniforms. You can apply for financial help from the College if this cost is going to be a challenge.
