Course Overview

Are you interested in developing your drawing skills and painting with watercolours? If so, our course will help you to do this. Some previous experience would be useful , but our lecturer does cater for all ability levels, providing a high degree of individual help and attention. You just need is enthusiasm and a willingness to experiment with different techniques.

What will I learn?

The aim of the course is to help you to develop your observational skills and stimulate your creativity while exploring different techniques in both drawing and watercolour painting. A broad subject range will be covered including still life, landscape, architecture, sketching on location, life drawing, studying other artists and gallery visits.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements associated with this course.

Study, Assessment and Qualifications

Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course lecturer. There are no final qualifications associated with this course.

Additional Costs and Information

You should bring with you drawing pencils (HB, 2B & 4B) and a putty rubber to the first session, as well as any other drawing and watercolour painting equipment you may already have. Most materials and equipment will be provided by the college, but you will need to provide watercolours, brushes and watercolour paper.

You may also wish to bring some small change for tea/coffee refreshments.

Please note that there is no parking at the Methuen Centre, Corsham. The closest car park is in the High Street, adjacent to The Methuen Arms. There is a charge for parking.
