Course Overview
This course aims to provide the advanced practical skills, together with the underpinning knowledge necessary, for employment as a site carpenter within the construction industry.
What will I learn?
The course comprises of general core units which relate to: Communication Organisation Developing supervisory/management skills Planning and programming work activities Workplace safety Sustainability Practical work will include: Carry out first fixing operations Carry out second fixing operations Erect complex structural carcassing components Maintenance Setting up and using fixed and transportable machinery
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
This course is based on continuous assessment of practical and theory tests. These assessments are scheduled at regular intervals over the year after the associated period of training has been completed. From time to time you may be given theory tasks to be completed as homework. In addition, following a period of absence, you will be expected to catch up with your theory work in your own time.
Entry Requirements
You should have already obtained the Site Carpentry Level 2 Construction Diploma before starting this course.
