This is a demonstration workshop to show the steps needed to make a box cushion used in an upholstery project.
What will I learn?
There will be a demonstration of how to make up a box cushion, focusing on:
• Pinning the piping round the shape
• Joining the piping
• Setting in the zip
• Setting in the side border
It is hoped that there will also be an opportunity for students to try some or all of these skills, so please bring your own sewing machine.
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course tutor.
There are no entry requirements associated with this course.
Additional Costs and Information
As it is hoped that there will be time for students to try some or all of these skills which have been demonstrated, you should bring with you your own sewing machine with thread. Please also bring a zipper foot, piping foot and straight stitch foot if you have them. All other materials will be provided by the Tutor.
Please also bring a packed lunch.. Facilities for making tea and coffee will be available at a small charge.
Please note that there is no parking at the Methuen Centre, Corsham. The closest car park is in the High Street, adjacent to The Methuen Arms. There is a charge for parking.
This course will take place on Sunday 28th September 2021 from 10:00-16:00 at the Methuen Centre, Corsham.
