Ever wondered what it’s like to be a ‘zoo keeper’? Find out at our Lackham Campus, where you could spend a day working with animals in our industry leading, recently refurbished Animal Resource Centre. The Centre is home to an incredible array of animals, from racoons and lemurs to chinchillas, bearded dragons to tarantulas, and even a roaming peacock. The animals are housed at the same standard as you would find in a zoo, with brand new aviaries, vivaria and enclosures giving you the chance to experience what it's like to work with animals in an exciting professional environment.
What will I learn?
You’ll join our Animal Care team for a day as they care for and handle our fascinating collection of animals. You’ll be involved in feeding, handling and carrying out care duties, as well as providing enrichment. Every animal is different – you'll learn how to handle animals carefully and professionally, picking up some tricks of the trade along the way. If you think working with animals may be the career for you and you’d like a taster of the industry, or you simply love animals and want a fun, interactive day of learning, apply today!
