Course Overview

If you dream of a career in marketing and are passionate about social media and all things digital, then this apprenticeship is the ideal route for pursuing an exciting career! This qualification has been designed to meet both the employer and individual demand for the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to use social media to promote businesses in today’s digital world. It is aimed at those working in ICT or marketing role or a combination of the two, as well as those wanting to complete a Social Media Apprenticeship. This qualification is divided into three pathways to suit your job role. The technical pathway is for those looking to develop the software behind social media. The marketing pathway is for those who use social media as a marketing tool for their business and the optional pathway is ideal for those who would like a mixture of both. It is supported nationwide by employers.

What will I learn?

This apprenticeship is 100 per cent vocational and is a fantastic route for anyone wanting the benefits of employment and training together. Apprentices will complete units to demonstrate their competence and knowledge around social media and digital marketing alongside Level 2 Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT and Employment Rights and Responsibilities and Personal Learning & Thinking Skills.

Entry Requirements

Employers are looking to attract applicants who have a keen interest in social media and digital marketing. Applicants are expected to demonstrate a "can do" attitude and have basic numeracy, literacy and IT skills on which the apprenticeship will build. All applicants will be required to complete initial assessments in Maths, English and ICT.

Study, Assessment and Qualifications

The Competence / Knowledge elements of the apprenticeship is assessed in the workplace using evidence to build an e-portfolio. Functional Skills will generally be delivered at one of Wiltshire College & University Centre’s campuses.

Additional Costs and Information

The duration of this apprenticeship is 18 months.
