Parking Restrictions at Salisbury Campus

From Monday 3rd June until further notice the Salisbury campus will be undergoing building works and there will be limited parking for staff and students.

Staff and Students

We now have access back to the majority of Bourne car park and all of St Mary’s car park. Free parking still applies in Churchill Garden (provided College badge is displayed), Churchill Gardens public car park is accessible from Southampton Road, opposite the college. This will be free of charge if you display a staff or student parking permit available from Reception. There is also parking available at the Park and Ride site on Southampton Road.

Due to no longer having access to the ramp at the front of Bourne, we have relocated the three disabled parking bays to the rear of Bourne, where there is a dropped kerb and level access.

Visitors

Visitors to the college can park in the Pay and Display Churchill Gardens car park opposite the college, or at the Park and Ride on Southampton Rd. There is also limited short term parking available on Tollgate Road and Marina Road.. Please allow extra time to get to your appointment.

Events at the College

Facilities

Art, Media and Music

The Salisbury campus is home to a fantastic range of creative arts programmes, from Art and Design to Games Development, and from Film and Media to Music or Performing Arts- there is something here for everyone. Delivered by experienced, specialist tutors, our courses are a great introduction to the creative industries and are all located in industry standard workshops, classrooms and studios.

The media division is home to Mac Suites, state of the art music recording and production studios and specialist games development suites with all the latest equipment at your fingertips. Students can also make use of the on-site performance studio, which is fully set up with lighting and sound rigs, ready for any performance. Art and Design students enjoy quiet, dedicated studio spaces, home to specialist dark room and textile facilities and 3d workshop areas, as well as the opportunity to use computer rooms with access to a range of creative software.

Construction

The construction facilities at Salisbury are home to trades including plumbing and gas, carpentry and joinery, painting and decorating and electrical installation. All delivered by our industry experienced and knowledgeable tutors, students learn in real life training environments, using industry standard equipment.

Film & Cinematography and Photography Degrees

Delivered in partnership with Bournemouth University at the Salisbury campus, these prestigious degree level programmes are some of the most sought after for those looking to get into the industries.

The Salisbury campus is home to an extensive range of industry standard facilities for students on these programmes. Photography students have access to the latest digital imaging software, fully equipped studios, large and medium format cameras and much more. Film production and cinematography students have access to a range of up to date professional broadcast equipment including digital cameras, sound and lighting equipment and non-linear edit suites. Students also have multiple opportunities to shoot on 16mm film.

Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Salons

The bright and welcoming industry standard Aspire Salons at Wiltshire College are fully equipped with a range of professional equipment and leading brands such as Dermalogica, L'Oréal Professionnel and Crystal Clear, giving students the opportunity to learn in a real salon environment using high quality products.

Learning from tutors who are not only fully qualified teachers but also have years of industry experience, students develop skills in not only hair, beauty or body treatments but also learn the theory behind all the practical elements and put their skills to the test providing treatments to paying members of the public. Motorvehicle

The large motorvehicle workshops at the Salisbury campus are a fantastic place to study if you're planning to get into the automotive industry. Home to a range of vehicles from your standard family hatchback or saloon, students have the opportunity to learn from specialist tutors with industry experience and knowledge, about a wide range of vehicle systems.

As well as the all important fleet of vehicles, in the workshops students will also find a diverse range of industry standard equipment and facilities, including hydraulic lifts and ramps, fault finding diagnostic equipment, air conditioning machines, power and hand tools and CAD software.

Learning Resource Centre

The learning resource centre (LRC) at Salisbury is one of the hearts of the campus, located on the ground floor, just past Costa Coffee. Home to a wealth of resources, both printed - such as journals, books and magazines - and digital, accessible on the large bank of free to use computers. The friendly LRC team are also available to help with any queries students have concerning their work or assignments, and welcome all students to the centre.

Catering facilities & The Wessex Restaurant

Catering and hospitality students at Wiltshire College have the opportunity to experience life in the industry right from the start. Training in our professional, industry standard kitchens, students wear chefs whites and learn individually and in teams to prepare them for a fast paced career in the sector.

As well as training in the kitchens, students prepare and cook food throughout the year to be served in the student-run restaurant, The Wessex Restaurant, to paying members of the public. As well as food service, students learn how to make hot and cold drinks, serve food, take orders and provide exceptional customer service, all to prepare them for employment.
