From Sunday, 30th January, First Bus will no longer operate the section of its D1 bus service between Warminster and Salisbury as a commercial venture. Wiltshire Council has therefore stepped in to organise a replacement service to ensure that bus users living along that section of route still have access to a regular bus service.
From Monday, 31st January, Beeline Coaches of Warminster will be operating a new service 24 between Warminster and Salisbury on Wiltshire Council’s behalf. A copy of the timetable for this route can be downloaded, together with the D1 service timetable that will continue to run north of Warminster.
The new service will be operated by modern wheelchair accessible buses and the timetable has been designed to give passengers the ability to transfer to/from the service D1 at Warminster if they wish to travel further afield.
The Council are now working on the range of tickets and fares that will be available on this service and will provide an update next week. If you have already purchased a ticket or pass from First Bus for use on the D1 service beyond 30th January, this will continue to be accepted for travel for the time being. Once the new service starts, the Council ask that no further tickets be purchased from First for use on service 24, unless you need to travel on the D1 bus service as well. Concessionary bus passes will continue to be accepted and on weekdays they can be used to travel on service 24 after 8.45 am.

Please find links to two new timetables which are effective from Monday 31st January 2022.
- The 24 timetable is the new service that will operate south of Warminster to Salisbury.
- The D1 will operate north of Warminster to Bath via Trowbridge and Bradford on Avon.
These are short term arrangements which will be reviewed before April 2022.
