Are you interested in the way our laws are made, where power comes from in our political system and how effective the criminal justice system is? Build your understanding of the world around you and hone your critical thinking skills with a course in Criminology at Wiltshire College & University Centre.

We offer Criminology and Law at Level 3 and a Higher National Diploma in Crime and Criminal Justice, both taught at our Chippenham and Salisbury campuses.

The Level 3 course explores the criminal justice system, from the psychology of crime to the applications of law, power and punishment. It combines criminology, law and public services, allowing you to investigate, interrogate and analyse criminals and the system that strives to rehabilitate offenders and protect the public. You will build the knowledge and skills to enter into many aspects of the criminal justice system, from policing and investigation to law and government, or to study higher. Our HND in Crime and Criminal Justice will give you the opportunity to explore the purpose and framework of the criminal justice system and the public services that work within this area. You will be encouraged to develop your critical thinking and analytical skills, engage in trips (including to prisons and courts) and benefit from guest speakers and to partake in work experience within your chosen field.

What our students say...
The class size was perfect, allowing us to have a more personal setting which encouraged debates on most topics.

The quality of teaching, support and the learning environment was second to none. The high level of teaching on the HND Criminal Justice made the transition to Level 6 much easier.
Becca Denton
We didn't just sit in the classroom; we went to courts, and sitting in the public gallery watching trials brought what we had been studying to life.
Tracy Leigh
I can honestly say that the 2 years I spend studying HND Criminal Justice were the best years of education I’ve ever had. The teachers are so friendly and support you the whole way through.

I studied Criminal Justice at University Level and it was the best experience ever. We went to Court trials, visited the Old Bailey and witnessed what we’d learned in real life scenario
