What will I learn?
You’ll develop your knowledge of support systems by undertaking a range of tasks, including:
• Diagnosing and repairing faults on PC equipment
• Maintaining ICT networks and multi-user systems
• Devising standard testing procedures for stand-alone and networked systems using existing test hardware and software
• Learning safe methods of installing and configuring both hardware and software
• Developing your understanding of types of threat to ICT systems and data and how to protect against them
• Securing internet functions and communications
Developing a wider knowledge of the industry you will gain an understanding of:
• Object oriented computer languages and how they are used to implement, refine and test computer programs
• Advanced website design, maintenance and their operating systems
• Customer service skills and processes for providing technical support and improving the way customers use networked ICT systems

Entry Requirements
• 2 GCSEs at grade 9-4 (A*-C) including English and maths, (or equivalent), or Merit or Distinction in a related subject at Level 2.

Your final qualification on successful completion of the course is the Level 3 City and Guilds Diploma in IT Systems & Principles.
