Course Overview

This course is designed to develop your ability to converse confidently in a range of everyday situations during a visit to Italy. You will gain the skills to express yourself clearly in the present, past, and future tenses, as well as increase your awareness of Italian cultural traditions and ways of life.

The topics covered in this course will be:

– Italian cultural topics e.g. Italian cities and regional specialities and festivals/holidays/Italian lifestyle
– Eating out – food, recipes,
– Revise and extend holiday roleplay situations
– Discussing the past: Talking about what you did yesterday, last week, or on holiday
– Future plans: Describing what you are going to do tomorrow, next weekend, or on your next trip
This course is suitable for adult learners who have completed the Italian Intermediate (Parts 1 and 2) courses at Wiltshire College & University Centre or at a similar establishment.

It is also suitable for those who have previous knowledge of the language and who feel they can cope at a level with the topics and grammar itemised.
Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course lecturer. There are no final qualifications associated with this course.
You will be asked to buy a course book, this will be discussed in your first session Please also bring an A4 folder, paper and pens.

To get maximum benefit from the course learners should expect to do up to an hour at home each week to reinforce the work covered in class. Your lecturer will advise you on what work to do at home.

This course runs on one day per week at the Chippenham Campus and the dates are:
17.09.25-26.11.25, Wednesdays at 10:00-11:30
