Course Overview

The course is suitable for learners who have already taken a Beginners course (Year 1) and an Intermediate course (Year 2) or equivalent and are comfortable at this level. This is a perfect French course for learners with this knowledge of basic French who would like to reinforce their speaking and understanding skills.

On completion you should be able to hold a conversation in French on many subjects such as daily life and family, describe your activities, speak about the weather or places you know and give your opinion and take part in debates on different topics.

You will be able to use more complex sentences, using pronouns, preposition, different tenses like Imperfect, conditional …
The following topics will be covered throughout the year:

– Daily life
– Sports
– Music
– Cinema
– Environment
– French culture
There are no entry requirements associated with this course other than to have the appropriate prior knowledge of the French language.
Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course lecturer.
Your lecturer may ask you to buy a course book at the beginning of the course which will be used throughout the year.

This course runs on one day per week at the Chippenham Campus and the dates are:
16.09.25 – 02.12.25, Tuesday at 19:30-21:00
