Mr Fear
Developing an Art and Design practice is what helps to define the artist and designer. In the art world and the creative industries, artists and designers will often pursue individual concepts and themes, which come about through a series of proposals to organisations and pitches to clients. Sometimes this will be for a one-off project (together with its own restrictions - such as time, materials etc.) whilst for others their projects could last up to decades, in a state of continuous development and flux...
Mr Fear is inspired by childhood fears and nightmares, the playful yet frightening dynamic that we have all experienced. These pieces are inspired by illustrator, Edward Gorey, the game Little Nightmares and The Babadook film. I used fluid, expressive linework to convey the surreal immersion of nightmares through the eyes of a child.
