Macro
My previous studies were strongly based around psychology and, so, the last three years have considered and developed that field and used photography to explore many subjects - from phobias through to the minutiae of everyday life whilst in the limbo of a Covid lockdown. I will be exploring both a freelance photography career as well as studying for a teacher qualification.
This series of three images (part of a wider body of work) was created with both the fascination of texture as well the consideration of macro photography and how it impacts a specific aesthetic on the subject: the textures creating an abstract expression to each photograph – helping to gain the interest of the viewer. These particular three images come together, as a group, to furnish a sensory response within the viewer. Each finished image has been framed next to the photographed subject: endeavouring to influence the viewer and encouraging them to reach out and touch the subject. The wallpaper is there to satisfy the viewer with that want.
