Raising Helliker

Raising Helliker is a show about Thomas Helliker, also known as the Trowbridge Martyr. He was a local shearman’s apprentice at Littleton Mill but during the stoppages in the early 1800’s was arrested, tried and executed on his 19th birthday for a crime he was unlikely to have committed. His tomb is in St. James’ church yard and there is a display in Trowbridge Museum with further information and artefacts. The show ran over three nights in the Arc Theatre and due to the stylised effects, design and costume, PPA have created an immersive walk through experience in their Black Box studio (K013), so you can experience it too.
