All who are involved in the procurement function will operate effective processes demonstrating that the College deploys its resources to maximise value for money, ensuring lowest cost and fitness for purpose whilst minimising risk and building constructive supplier relationships. Factors to be considered in determining lowest cost are noted in the procurement procedures, and it should be noted that “lowest cost” does not necessarily mean “cheapest”.
Strategic Procurement will contribute to meeting the College’s strategic objectives and Core Values whilst fulfilling the needs of the community.
The contracts and procurement team are responsible for ensuring that the procurement vision is achieved and all College procurement is conducted in an open and fair manner. The team are also responsible for ensuring that all procedures and processes adhere to the relevant legal requirements and internal financial regulations.
Wiltshire College has advanced to using an electronic tendering system to manage all quotations, approved supplier lists, tenders and mini-competitions. The system is quick and easy for suppliers to use.
