Foundation Art student inspires young minds

Ruby Ellis, a Foundation Art student at Wiltshire College & University Centre’s Trowbridge campus, is an inspirational, passionate young artist. Recently, she paid a visit to Bath Academy to inspire young students.

When asked about her visit, Ruby said: “I wanted the students to know how exciting the course can be and how it makes you see art in a different light. It makes you question it, learning new things as well as helping develop your skills to make you a better artist.”

Ruby also told the students about her own experiences and how she chose this course after already trying A Levels.

She explained: “A Levels were not for me, it was too set and structured which frustrated me. I needed something more exploratory and the foundation course at the College made me see art in a new way. I was surrounded by like-minded people.”

Students from Bath Academy enjoyed her visit too, when Ruby asked them what they thought about the information received they responded that it’s great to be aware of the options and to know about a course with no limits and that’s different from any other.

After studying at the College, Ruby wants to travel, where she hopes to find inspiration in different cultures as well as her surroundings.
