College selected as provider for T Levels

The Department for Education has announced 88 new providers selected to deliver new subjects from in the biggest shake up to technical education in a generation.

The College will be amongst those teaching a range of new subjects including Digital, Education, Health and Science, Business and Admin and Engineering and Manufacturing from 2022.

A select number of T Levels will be phased in at the start of the academic year in 2021.

Principal Amanda Burnside said: “T Levels are an important addition to the technical education landscape and we look forward to continuing to work with our employers to deliver these exciting new qualifications.

“We believe T Levels will play a vital role in ensuring young people gain the skills and experience they need to progress and help recover our economy after Coronavirus.”

T Levels are a high-quality technical alternative to A-Levels, combining practical learning and theory alongside a work placement to give them all the necessary skills needed for a career in their chosen industry, or undertake further study at higher education level or even a high-quality apprenticeship.
