It was also one of the reasons that the 16-year-old wanted to study the Level 3 Agriculture course at Lackham, so that she could learn about different aspects of farming.

Along with fellow students and farm staff, Kitty has been working on a rota to assist with lambing at Notton Farm and has seen the arrival of countless lambs.

When we caught up with her, Kitty had just helped deliver triplets!

She said: “I’ve never done lambing before, but I’m finding it really interesting.

“I helped to lamb triplets this morning and the last lamb had its head stuck so one of the other more experienced students had to assist.

“It was fine which was a relief.

“Our duties for lambing include bedding up, checking on the ewes and making sure they have hay and water.

“Since I started this course, I’ve really enjoyed crop production, but I do also like working with the sheep, so this has been a good experience for me.”
