UK to remain in ‘containment’ stage in response to Coronavirus

As of 9am yesterday, (Monday 9th March) there were 319 confirmed cases in the UK.

The College continues to follow advice from the Department for Education which issued guidelines to all early year’ providers, schools and further education providers.

Public Health England has advised the risk to individuals of contracting COVID-19 remains low.

However, there are several ways that people can help to stop it spread.

For anyone coughing or sneezing, catch it with a tissue and bin it, before then washing hands with soap and water or hand sanitiser.

Public Health England also recommends washing hands thoroughly after breaks and sport activities, before cooking and eating, on arrival at any childcare or educational setting, after using the toilet and before leaving for home.

Anyone wanting to find out more information about coronavirus, or who has returned from the UK from affected areas or has symptoms, should visit https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus.
