A celebration lunch was hosted at Lackham House for employees who successfully completed management training thanks to specialist funding for businesses in Wiltshire.
The event saw eight staff from Whitmore Financial, Cardwave Services, Le Roc, Wilshire Wildlife Trust and Blue Max Banner Ltd presented with certificates after completing a Level 2 or 3 ILM course at Wiltshire College.
The training, which is managed by Wiltshire College and Serco, is funded through the Skills Support for the Workforce programme, subsidised by the European Social Fund and the Education and Skills Funding Agency.
Paul Fairhurst, an Import Export Supervisor at Blue Max Banner Ltd, based in Trowbridge, was one of those who completed the training.
He said: “The ILM course has been very beneficial to me and given me the extra skills to lead and manage my team and understand other areas of the company I work for.
“It also helped me to be more confident and handle many different situations in the correct manner.
“The performance and communication of my team has improved and the knowledge gained from this course is second to none.
“I loved the celebration event and would like to thank everyone involved at Wiltshire College as without their hard work and commitment this course would probably never have been an option for me and I am over the moon to have completed it!”
The Skills Support for the Workforce programme is primarily focused at supporting small and medium business with less than 250 full-time employees in Swindon and Wiltshire to access accredited qualifications and bespoke training courses including leaderships, team leading and management.
Norman Jaggon-Barrett is Contract Manager in the Business Development team and organised the event.
She said: “We are delighted to extend our work with small and medium enterprises across Wiltshire and Swindon to offer this free training opportunity.
“We are now seeing tangible benefits to companies and their staff in the form of increased productivity, technical knowledge, self-motivation and retention.”
