How to apply for funding

Wiltshire College, WeyAC work with a number of funding bodies. Where you apply for funding depends on certain factors including previous qualification, location of workplace and employment details. A brief guide to funding criteria and where to apply are listed below however this is for guidance only and further advice should be sought from the relevant party.

Learning and Skills Council

The Learning and Skills Council are funding Level 2 candidates through their Train to Gain scheme; this is a free service to employers as long as you meet certain criteria. This funding is applied for by the workplace to help train staff to at least a level 2 qualification. Funding is dependent on the following criteria:

  • All learners must be over 19 on enrolment on the training course
  • All learners must be in employment and have a contract of employment or be a volunteer
  • volunteer

Funding for Social Care Sector

Wiltshire and Swindon Care Skills Partnership

Funding may be available for candidates within the Social Care Sector from the Wiltshire and Swindon Care Skills Partnership. Please follow the external links for more information. Please can you add their web address to the related links page, this is: http://www.ws-careskills.org.uk/.

Funding for Early Years Sector

Bright Horizons

Bright Horizons family solutions fund candidates who are working within the Wiltshire area. Funding is dependent on the following criteria:

  • Learners must work within Wiltshire
  • Level 3 learners must have a contract of employment (Level 2 candidates may get funding even if they are voluntary)
  • Learners must not be eligible for Train to Gain Funding

BANES

BANES fund candidates who are working within the Bath and North East Somerset area.

Swindon Sure Start Partnership

Swindon Sure Start Partnership fund candidates who are working with the Swindon area. Please follow the external links for more information.

How much does the course cost?

Currently our prices list is as follows:

NVQ in Health & Social Care / Children's Care, Learning and Development / Playwork / Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Level 2 - £900.00

NVQ in Health & Social Care / Children's Care, Learning and Development / Playwork / Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Level 3 - £1100.00

Leadership and Management for Care Services / Health & Social Care / Children's Care, Learning and Development Level 4 - £1,200

A1 Assessor Award / V1 Internal Verifier Award - £500.00
