An end of year Catwalk Show was the perfect place for Art, Design, Contemporary Fashion and Performing Arts students to showcase their creativity and talent.
The show, which took place in the Arc Theatre in Trowbridge, saw students come together and reveal costumes and garments they have been working on individually and in groups throughout the entire academic year to friends, families and VIPs.
It also gave students the perfect opportunity to extend their learning beyond the classroom into a real world scenario.
Show directors Helen Chivers, Jamie Wright and Richard Tulloch said they were thrilled at how successful the event was.
Art and Design lecturer Helen said: “The catwalk show was the perfect way for the older students to finish their time here at Wiltshire College.
“It was a spectacular night and one that will live long in the memory for many people.
“We are so very proud of what they have all accomplished.
“It was a huge team effort and some of the costumes on display were really fantastic.
“The Art & Design and Contemporary Fashion students have been continually challenged to extend their understanding of fashion and the wearable art form; how to be imaginative with simple materials and how to solve both functional and aesthetic problems spontaneously.”
Jamie Wright, Performing Arts lecturer, said: “My students have brought these physical creations to life, giving them mood, presence and characterisation.
“They extended the designs into a story and demonstrated how beautifully fabric can move when worn by a professional performer.”
