A specialist college for students with learning disabilities is delighted to have been presented with a Wiltshire College & University Centre apprenticeship award.
Fairfield Farm College, at Dilton Marsh, won the Medium Employer of the Year award for its work with apprentices, but was unable to attend the awards ceremony held earlier this month.
So, Business Development Training Consultant Alistair Baxter, who nominated them for the award alongside other staff members, went over specifically to present them with their award.
Alistair said: “I was delighted to be able to visit the College to present them their award.
“Fairfield is a firm supporter of apprenticeships and currently has eight staff who are apprentices studying areas such as Agriculture, Health and Social Care and Management.
“All the apprentices demonstrate a real passion for their work and dedication, which is reflected in the positive outcomes for their students.
“The College continues to develop its staff and is seeing the benefits of its ongoing commitment to apprenticeship training.”
Tamasin Jones, HR Lead, was delighted to accept the award on behalf of Fairfield Farm College, which is a registered charity.
She said: “We were delighted to receive the Medium Employer of the Year Apprenticeship award for 2019.
“Wiltshire College & University Centre has been a great support and provides excellent training for our employees.
“We look forward to continuing to work together in the future.”
Fairfield continues to develop their staff and are seeing the benefits of their ongoing commitment to apprenticeship training.
The College is looking forward to more apprenticeship opportunities for other staff in the near future.
Wiltshire College & University Centre hosts its annual Apprenticeship Awards in March during National Apprenticeship Week to celebrate the successes and achievements of apprentices and employers.
This year, individual awards were presented by South West Wiltshire MP Dr Andrew Murrison to 14 apprentices in areas such as Agriculture, Leadership and Management, Catering, Early Years, Engineering, Motor Vehicle, Hairdressing and Health Care.
Awards were also presented to small and large employer of the year.
