Former Wiltshire College student excited to perform in front of friends and family where career began

A former Wiltshire College student says she can’t wait to bring her one-woman show back to the place where her career began!

Natasha Marshall is bringing Half Breed to the Arc Theatre in May and despite a hugely successful tour of India, sell-outs in London and a full month run at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, she says she is most excited about performing back in Trowbridge!

The 27-year-old who was a Performing Arts student from 2008-09 and grew up in Erlestoke, near Devizes, said: “This will be my most special and personal show.

“Coming to Wiltshire College changed my life and it was one of the best times in my life because I felt so accepted.

“It gave me confidence and made me dream big.

“It was important for me to do this show back at College as it holds a special place in my heart and makes the overall experience more sentimental.”

This will be the first time that Natasha has returned to the Trowbridge campus since she completed her course and started at the East 15 drama school in London.

She said: “I have lots of highlights from my time there including performing in a show called Birds where there was lots of costume changes – that was really fun!

“I did another show that I can’t remember the name of, but it was my first big part and I remember the pride I felt.

“It was then I realised my strength was making people laugh and I felt I had a talent and purpose.”

The critically acclaimed show which deals with issues such as faith, identity and racism, has received rave reviews, but Natasha is hoping it is a hit with her friends and family.

She said: “A lot of people from back home haven’t seen it yet and it will be their first time seeing this side of me.

“I’ve never really spoken about the topics discussed in the show before with them, but they are all coming so I’m really excited!”
