Wiltshire College donates festive hamper to elderly residents of Lacock

Elderly residents and those in need in the parish of Lacock can enjoyed produce from Wiltshire College over the festive period.

A hamper filled with meat, eggs, jams and chutneys, Christmas puddings and biscuits, was presented to the parish council on Friday 15th December by Lackham Assistant Principal Ian Revill, Principal Amanda Burnside and Deputy Principal Iain Hatt as part of a Christmas tradition between the two.

The college, which lies in the parish of Lacock, has presented the village with a hamper for many years and it is then distributed to elderly residents who might not be able to travel far from home.

A Christmas tree was also given to the National Trust village by the campus and placed outside The Red Lion pub in the High Street by Horticulture students at the beginning of the month.

Ian Revill said: “Lackham is pleased to support our most local community and we appreciate that Christmas is a time of giving presents.

“The students on the campus do a lot of charity and fundraising activities throughout the year but at

Christmas it is nice to be able to give a little something to the local residents as a gesture of seasonal goodwill.”
