There was only one choice for Adam Lamont when it came to choosing where to study agricultural engineering – and that was Wiltshire College Lackham.
The second year Level 3 Land Based Engineering student looked at different college’s when he was looking at where to study after school, but said Lackham offered everything he needed, wanted and more to get his career off the ground.
Adam said: “This course provides you with a really great opening into the agricultural engineering industry.
“The link that the lecturers have with industry and the machinery and equipment we get to work on is a real highlight and makes it stand out from any others.
“They are also all really supportive and knowledgeable and get just as excited as us about the machinery we work on.”
Adam, grew up on a farm in Market Lavington, but unlike formers generations of his family who are farmers, he wants to specialise in engineering.
The 18-year old said: “When I finish the course I would like to progress into design features and development rather than repair and maintenance, which we have learned a lot about.
“This is great though as everything I have learned through this course has given me a great background and knowledge which will only help me in the future.”
