A Wiltshire College student is excited to have combined her passion for hairdressing and love of travel by successfully gaining work on a cruise liner.
Sara Winters is thrilled to be working in a salon on-board a sea chef river vessel and pampering clients.
The 19-year-old said she feels proud to be starting her career after progressing all the way through College, starting on a Skills Pathway course and then completing the Level 1, 2 and 3 courses at the Trowbridge campus.
She said: “I feel that I have learned all the skills needed to confidently go into the industry and I am very excited to be starting my career on board a cruise ship.
“When I was a little girl living in Malta I used to model for my cousin who was a hairdresser and ever since then I have wanted to follow in her footsteps.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time at college and the combination of working in the Aspire salon and also carrying out work experience in other salons, which has given me the best experience possible.
My favourite thing is putting people’s hair up and I can’t wait to do that on-board.”
Sara’s first cruise is four weeks travelling around Europe and she looks forward to where the opportunity and experience will take her next.
She said: “I’m feeling a little nervous but love to travel and so I feel this job is perfect, giving me the best of both worlds!”
