Wiltshire College Trowbridge is currently undertaking exciting new building works on its campus. This page will allow you to keep up-to-date with our plans.
Phase One is now complete and the new Learning Resource Centre and Front Entrance to the College were successfully opened at Easter with new workshops for Plumbing , Electrical and Performing Arts students and a refurbished gym and Student Common Room opened earlier in the academic year.
Wiltshire College secured funding in November that will enable it to transform the Trowbridge campus. This is Phase Two of plans to develop the campus and will provide a new Construction Skills Centre to meet the growing needs of local employers and the community for courses and Apprenticeships in this area.
The new 2303 square metre two storey building will replace two buildings – Cheverill and Dilton. It will provide first class new facilities for the construction trades and extend the range of courses and trades we are able to offer to our students.
The new building will be located behind existing buildings on what is currently the student car park at the rear of the site.
New parking areas will be created by the demolition of the Cheverill and Dilton buildings.
Final Designs have now been submitted for planning permission. It is anticipated that the building work will begin in the summer of 2013 and be complete for the start of term in September 2014.
From College Road you will see a much more open site once the Cheverill and Dilton buildings have been demolished. The new building will not be visible from College Road.
For our neighbours along Frome Road you will notice a difference when the Cheverill and Dilton buildings are removed and replaced with car parking.
Residents in Beech Grove may be able to see the new Construction Skills centre which will sit within existing building lines on the campus.
As we begin to build the new building there will be an increase in construction traffic and deliveries. Conscious that our campus is in a residential area, we will work closely with our contractors to ensure that these have as minimal impact as possible on our neighbours.
If you have any questions then you can send them by email to newbuilding@wiltshire.ac.uk, or call into Reception and give them to the Customer Services team.
We look forward to welcoming you into the College to see these exciting new facilities for our Trowbridge students.
