The College is committed to providing a supportive Tutorial Programme for all full-time students. This programme is led and co-ordinated by the Advanced Tutors who are located on each site.
Full-time students and some part-time students will be assigned a Personal Tutor. Full-time students will have both personal and group tutorials.
Your Personal Tutor is responsible for:
- Providing pastoral support to help you identify and achieve goals for your personal and social wellbeing.
- Promoting monitoring and reviewing your academic and personal progress by helping you to set and work towards achieving minimum and extended targets to reach your goals.
- Referring you to other experts who can help support you and your aspirations if required.
- Reviewing your personal development and supporting your career/higher education planning.
- Writing and maintaining reports and references and distributing important notices relevant to your study and personal progression.
- Ensuring you are aware of the opportunities available for enjoyment, additional skill development and qualifications through the 'Community Campus' and other enrichment programmes.
Your Personal Tutor should be the first person you contact if problems arise. Please make sure that you establish a good working relationship with your tutor and take advantage of the support and facilities offered by the college to help and support you in your studies.
