Assistant Research Technicians required at ADAS

Contract: Fee Paid (0 hour contracts)
We require Research Technicians to assist our Field Research Team with delivery of field, plot and glasshouse research trials within ADAS R & D programmes on crop protection/production and agri-environmental issues.
What you will be doing:
Assisting with marking out and preparation of study sites in the field to protocol requirements.
Assisting with observations/assessments such as monitoring and identifying invertebrates, diseases and weeds.
Sampling, preparation and processing of plant, soil and water samples.
Carrying out work as described in Standard Operating Procedures and protocols such as treatment applications, agronomic and crop damage scores.
Assisting with the delivery of work to contracts such as harvesting of plots, compilation and collation of results.
The Successful Candidate will:
Have a clear and demonstrable knowledge of agricultural and scientific practices, contributing to the running and management of field and glasshouse experiments.
Deliver work in a meticulous and methodical manner following SOPs and protocols.
Manage time effectively in order to meet deadlines.
Work flexibly and demonstrate an enthusiasm for working outside.
Communicate effectively in a small team environment.
What we require:
Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
Valid UK driving licence.
Flexibility - overnight stay will be required on occasion.
