Who is this course for
Those who wish to pursue a career in hairdressing at an advanced level or who want to manage a salon or become a lecturer in the future.
What does this course aim to do
Develop existing skills and offer new ideas and techniques with which to inspire and encourage artistic flaire.

Educational Progression
Level 3 is the highest practical Hairdressing qualification you can achieve. You will be working in the industry when you complete the course and you will be expected to keep up to date by attending product demonstrations, training events and master classes. After a minimum of 5 years in the hairdressing industry you may wish to consider Assessor training and/or Teacher training as the next step educationally.

About this course
During the course you will learn a variety of techniques in all aspects of hairdressing. This will include creative styling, dressing long hair, creative cutting and colouring techniques. Work experience is an essential part of your course, which can be in a salon of your choice.
As part of your course you will be participate in and gain valuble assessments in our annual hairdressing competition, giving you the opportunity to showcase your artistic ability.
How will I be assessed?
In the 'Aspire' college Hair salon or in your work place if there is a qualified assessor.
Will I have to study at home?
At least 6-hours a week home study.
Are there any additional costs
You will need a uniform and a kit for this course; order forms will be sent out with the induction pack. In cases of financial hardship funds may be available to help with the cost of this.
Additional expenses may be incurred through competition work and educational activities.
Entry requirements
Hairdressing NVQ Level 2 or direct entry for mature candidates with relevant hairdressing experience.
Acceptance onto this course will also be subject to an interview followed by a written and practical task. Competition work and work experience is an essential course requirement.

Tutorial Services
As a full-time student at Wiltshire College, you will be allocated a personal tutor and will receive a one-to-one personal tutorial at least three times a year.
The purpose of the tutorial is to ensure that you are making the necessary progress towards the achievement of your main qualification aim and to address any academic or personal issues that you may wish to raise.

Course Fees
Students aged 18 or under on the 31st of August 2010 will not be required to pay.
Students aged 19 or over on the 31st August 2010 will pay a reduced rate of
£120
if you meet one of the criteria listed
