Confidentiality

A student can generally expect that information revealed in confidence in discussion with a member of staff is notdivulged to a 3rd party. There are however some exceptions to this. Tutors and other staff cannot guarantee confidentiality in the following circumstances:

  • If a student reveals information that leads a member of staff to believe that the student or others are at risk of 'significant harm'.
  • Where a student reveals information that leads a member of staff to believe that the student or others are implicated in serious criminal activity.
