The M J Church Academy has been designed to develop Wiltshire’s future generation of Civil Engineers, Site Managers and Quantity Surveyors by providing high quality workplace visits, with stimulating and challenging practical and theoretical workshops.
Those with Civil Engineering training are now recognised as highly sought after individuals within the construction industry with employers eager to employ them due to the shortage of sufficiently skilled and qualified individuals in this area.
You learn how to sustainably design, construct or build infrastructure such as roads, bridges, railways, dams, pavements, drainage, water & sewer reticulation systems, harbours, tunnels, runways and indeed any other fixed projects to enhance human and other species’ lives in our diverse world. Civil Engineering study equips the student with the knowledge and ability to produce solutions to expensive and diverse problems in a safe and environmentally appropriate way.
Applicants are required to hold a minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English and Mathematics.
You will also need a passion for Civil Engineering.
Upon successful completion of the two-year course, students will achieve a final qualification of Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment (Civil Engineering)
Successful students could progress to pursue Higher Apprentice, Higher Education (Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Civil Engineering or Construction, University or into Industry.
