The course fees are as published in the Directory and include all registration, materials and exam fees. Some courses show two levels of fees – the full fee rate and the concessionary fee rate. See below the section on Fee Concessions to see if you are eligible.
*The published fees do not apply to everyone. If you have not been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for more than 3 years, then you may have to pay the overseas hourly rate. Contact Customer Services for further details.
You must pay the course fees when you enrol. We cannot reserve a place for you until we receive payment. It may be possible to join a course after the start date subject to availability and experience but the full fee is still normally charged.
If the total cost of the course(s) you are enrolling on at any one time is over £200, you can apply to pay in four instalments. 25% of the cost plus a £35 administration fee is due at enrolment, followed by three further instalments of 25%. Please note: all instalments must be paid in full before your course finishes or by 31st May 2012 - whichever is earliest. If you withdraw from your course early, full payment is still required. Instalments applications must be made in person, (please remember to bring your bank details with you), and there is a £35 administration fee for setting up the instalment agreement to be paid with the deposit.
In circumstances where a student is permitted to enrol after the start of a course, the full course fee is normally charged.
Fees are due at the time of enrolment and are usually non-refundable. You may be eligible for a reduced fee because of the type of course you are studying or because you are in receipt of one of the benefits listed below.
If you are in receipt of benefit
If you receive either of the income-based benefits listed below at the time of enrolment you are eligible to claim the concessionary fee rate on the courses listed:
Job Seekers Allowance
Employment and Support Allowance (Work Related Group Activity only)
If you are claiming the concessionary fee rate, we will need to see evidence of your benefit at the time of enrolment and you will need to complete a Wiltshire College Benefit Form available below
Wiltshire College Benefit Form 2011/2012
We do not receive funding for students under the age of 19 enrolling on leisure courses, so cannot normally enrol students onto these courses. Please enquire at Customer Services if you require further information.
Leisure courses - course codes ending with A0
Many leisure courses run for 2 or 3 terms and you will be given priority on enrolling on subsequent terms if you have attended the first term. Look for courses identified with the symbol ‘T’ (Termly) in the listing.
Enrolling on courses showing the P (Progressive) symbol mean you can enrol mid-year if you have appropriate experience.
New students can enrol on the 2nd term of these courses from 12th December 2011 or from 23rd March 2012 for the 3rd term.
Level 2 EntitlementCourses marked 2 are also available at the concessionary rate to eligible students who are 19 or over and who do not possess 5 GCSEs grade C and above or an equivalent full level 2 qualification. Equivalent qualifications include O-levels, GNVQ, NVQ2 and BTEC First Diplomas. You must also meet the standard Learning and Skills Council eligibility criteria.
Level 3 EntitlementCourses marked 3 are also available at the concessionary rate to eligible students who do not possess 2 A levels grades A-E or equivalent. Equivalent qualifications include Advanced GNVQ, BTEC National Diplomas and Certificates, Access to HE Certificate and OCR National Diplomas. You must be aged 19 but not yet 25 when you start the learning programme and must meet the standard LSC eligibility criteria.
If you are under 19 on 31st August 2011 and meet the residency criteria* you will not have to pay course fees for courses ending with F0, F1 or F2. If you are on an apprenticeship or any government sponsored training scheme your employer will normally be expected to pay the fees.
Our part-time courses are largely designed for an adult audience and we cannot normally offer places to those students under the age of 16 on 31 August 2011.
If your employer is to pay, please ensure that your employer completes an Employer's Undertaking Form and send it in with your completed enrolment form.
If your employer subsequently decides not to pay for your course, you will be liable for the fees.
